When initiatives become a bright reality… the College of Fine Arts implements a volunteer initiative to support low-income students.

As part of its commitment to social responsibility and in implementation of the “About My School” initiative launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the University of Diyala, the College of Fine Arts organized a field visit to a school in Diyala Governorate on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
The initiative was supervised by the College Deanship and the Volunteer Work Committee, in collaboration with the Student Activities Division. During the visit, stationery supplies were distributed to students from low-income families. This humanitarian initiative aims to ease the burden on families and promote the principle of social solidarity, which the college and university embrace in their community service policy.
In this context, Mr. Adel Ali Abdul Hussein, Head of the Student Activities Division, explained that this initiative is part of a series of volunteer activities that the College of Fine Arts is keen to implement annually, out of its belief in the importance of supporting the educational environment and encouraging a spirit of cooperation and giving between students and the local community.
The students and their families expressed their deep gratitude for this generous gesture, praising the active role played by the College of Fine Arts and the University of Diyala in supporting humanitarian and social initiatives, and their continued commitment to ensuring that academic institutions are true partners in advancing educational and social development.
This initiative aligns with the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Quality Education), which calls for ensuring inclusive and equitable education for all and promoting lifelong learning opportunities. This initiative contributes to improving the educational environment and supporting educational opportunities for children in low-income communities.
