Within the activities of the College of Fine Arts and under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Professor Dr. Alaa Shaker Mahmoud, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the college held a scientific workshop entitled (The Stereotype of Women in Digital Media and Advertisements) The lecture was given by Assistant Professor Rabab Karim Keitan, a lecturer in the Department of Cinema and Television Arts. The lecture covered several topics, including the stereotype of women and how to represent women in advertisements and digital media. She pointed out that there are common visual patterns in advertisements that would limit the role of women or lead to reducing them within specific molds. The workshop addressed the topic of the negative effects of the image of women in society if they are placed in patterns within issues such as reducing their status or devoting the concept of a specific role such as the role of the mother only. During the workshop, an interactive dialogue took place to reach recommendations that would change the image and improve the representation of women in digital media by supporting more diverse and comprehensive advertisements, which gives the reality of the important role of women in society and through various digital media.
