On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Alaa Shaker Mahmoud, met with Assistant Professor Baida Anwar Razouqi, Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Fine Arts, and with representatives of the Academic Guidance Committee from all academic departments.

The Dean of the College stated, “Academic advising is one of the fundamental pillars of the educational process within universities and colleges. The role of the Academic Advising Committee extends to include psychological, social, and logistical support, which contributes to creating an integrated learning environment that supports student success and continuity in their academic journey. One of the primary goals of these meetings is to raise students’ academic achievement by monitoring performance and identifying strengths and weaknesses. The necessary support is provided to students who are facing academic difficulties. This includes providing advice on study strategies, time management, and utilizing available educational resources.

His Excellency also discussed with the attendees a number of important topics related to student follow-up and providing them with the necessary support. During the meeting, the Dean emphasized the need to complete guidance records accurately and regularly. He directed the monitoring of special and critical student cases and provided appropriate support. He also emphasized the importance of monitoring student absences and identifying their causes, ensuring students’ continued participation in the educational process and achieving high levels of academic performance.
