The Department of Cinema and Television Arts, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Division at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Diyala, held a course entitled Preparing Advertising Skills for the Media for the period from 4-5-2-2025. The course, which was discussed by Assistant Professor Rabab Karim Keitan, included several axes, the most prominent of which was advertising skills in the media, which included:
The first day of the course:
– Introducing the participants to the course objectives
2. Introduction to advertising in the media
– Definition of advertising and its importance in the modern era.
– Types of traditional and digital media.
– The difference between traditional media and digital media.
3. Planning advertising campaigns
– How to identify the target audience
– Market and competition analysis
– Setting advertising goals
4. Designing advertisements
– Elements of successful advertising (image, text, call to action).
– Basics of graphic design for advertisements.
– Using colors and fonts in advertisements.
5. Writing advertising texts
– How to write attractive advertising texts
– Using persuasive language in advertisements
– Examples and models of successful advertising texts
Day 2 of the course:
1. Advertising via social media
– How to create effective ads on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
– Analyzing the performance of advertisements on social media
– Strategies for increasing interaction with advertisements
2. Advertising via search engines
– Basics of advertising via Google
– How to improve the appearance of advertisements in search results
– The difference between paid advertising and organic appearance
3. Measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns
– How to analyze data and extract results
– Modifying campaigns based on data
4. Case studies and open discussion
– Presenting cases of success and failure in advertising campaigns
– Open discussion with participants about the challenges they face
– Providing practical advice from the trainer.
