The College of Arts holds a visual arts exhibition entitled “The Battle of Karbala: Lessons and Morals”

Under the patronage of the President of Diyala University, Prof. Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Alaa Shaker Mahmoud, and on the occasion of the fifth cultural week, which is held under the slogan Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, the symbol of our unity.
The Dean of the College of Fine Arts, accompanied by the ladies and gentlemen members of the College Council, opened today, Wednesday, 7/24/2024, the art exhibition of the Department of Art Education entitled The Battle of Karbala, Lessons and Morals.
His Excellency said during the opening of the exhibition that the paintings embodied his noble qualities and sublime qualities in various fields and positions in the Karbala Revolution, including his categorical refusal to pledge allegiance to Yazid, so he left the city and refrained from pledging allegiance to him even in the most difficult circumstances he went through in Karbala, from siege, thirst and various challenges, but rather he received death with pride and dignity.
The paintings included works that expressed the Battle of Karbala and the sacrifice of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, himself and his family for the sake of reforming the Islamic nation. The displayed paintings were the works of Assistant Professor Adel Atallah, Art Instructor Mu’ayyad Al-Mandlawi, and a number of students from the Department of Art Education for the fourth stage, through which the events of the painful battle were embodied. Various materials were used in making the paintings, including oil and acrylic colors, and other different materials were implemented in drawing these paintings that express the painful Battle of Karbala.
