Under the patronage of the President of the University of Diyala, Professor Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Professor Dr. Alaa Shaker Mahmoud, and within the fifth cultural season of the University of Diyala and under the slogan Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) is a symbol of our unity, the College of Fine Arts at the University of Diyala held a symposium today, Tuesday, 7/23/2024, entitled Features of Beauty in Imam Hussein, peace be upon him. The symposium, in which Professor Dr. Alaa Shaker Mahmoud, Dean of the College, lectured, included several objectives and axes about the features of beauty in Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and in the interactive classroom hall within the College of Fine Arts. The symposium was summarized as follows:
Beauty as a complex and fragmented concept has been addressed by many philosophers, starting from the philosophers of Greece to contemporary philosophers. Plato focused on the ideal of beauty and its connection to imitating the example, while Aristotle focused on organization and harmony in form. Philosophers were divided between those who support the idea that beauty is objective and related to the observed subject, and those who support the idea that beauty is subjective and differs according to time, place, and the nature of the viewer. The lecturer, Professor Dr. Alaa Shaker Mahmoud, detailed the nature of dealing with the aesthetic features of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, in a way that goes beyond the form and shape to the impression it leaves on the viewer. The lecturer and dean of the college also talked about the objective beauty of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, that his beauty is narrated and narrated that the form and appearance of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, is the closest to his grandfather, the Messenger Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and from the emotional point of view for the general public with Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, he is a symbol that goes beyond the subject of form and appearance to what he represents of symbols, emotions and feelings. Some of his translators described him by saying: He (peace be upon him) was white in color, and if he sat in a place where there was darkness, he would be guided to him because of the whiteness of his beauty and neck, and by saying another: He (peace be upon him) had great beauty, and a light that shone in his forehead and cheek, illuminating his surroundings in the dark night, and he (peace be upon him) was the most similar of people to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him.
