On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, the College of Fine Arts holds a symposium on the role of the media in establishing rights and freedoms
Under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Professor Dr. Alaa Shaker Mahmoud, and on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, the Human Rights Unit held an awareness seminar entitled (The Role of the Media in Establishing Rights and Freedoms) in cooperation with the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the College. The seminar, which was lectured by the Head of the Department of Cinema and Television Arts, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Sattar Hussein, and the Head of the Human Rights Unit, M.M. Aghareed Mahmoud Wahib, included shedding light on the historical development of human rights and the contribution of the media in adopting paths for concluding agreements and covenants that guarantee rights and freedoms at the international level, in addition to shedding light on the gains achieved by women from those covenants and agreements, especially those related to their political participation. The seminar, which was held in the interactive hall, was attended by a number of lecturers and students who enriched the topic of the seminar with their interventions.
