Late in the evening of Thursday, July 25, 2025, and in direct implementation of the directives of the Office of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Dean of the College of Fine Arts at the University of Diyala, Professor Dr. Alaa Shaker Mahmoud, conducted a field inspection tour to monitor the presence of night guards, civil defense guards, and facility protection personnel within the college.
The tour included the college’s corridors and various facilities, where His Excellency was accompanied by civil defense guards. During the tour, His Excellency inspected the readiness of classrooms and the integrity of electrical connections. He also checked the locations of fire extinguishers and their proximity to vital sites and their ease of access in the event of an emergency.
During the tour, the Dean emphasized the importance of vigilance and high alertness during night shifts, emphasizing the need to enhance the preparedness of staff present to respond to any emergency—God forbid—to ensure the safety of individuals and the preservation of state property.
His Excellency indicated that these field visits are part of an ongoing monitoring and oversight plan, which may sometimes extend until dawn, in line with the college’s policy of applying the highest standards of safety and prevention. This follow-up is part of a series of preventative measures the college consistently adopts to ensure a safe and stable university environment that reflects the academic institution’s commitment to its responsibilities toward students, affiliates, and infrastructure.
