Under the patronage of the President of the University of Diyala, Professor Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Professor Alaa Shaker Mahmoud, and on the occasion of National Tree Planting Day and within the framework of preserving the university environment and expanding its green spaces, the volunteer work team at the College of Fine Arts launched a large-scale volunteer campaign to plant evergreen shade trees and a variety of flower seedlings in the college gardens, as well as to establish a permanent agricultural nursery at the college.

The Dean of the College said on this occasion: “Establishing a permanent agricultural nursery within the College of Arts campus is an innovative step that combines artistic and environmental aspects, enhancing the value of practical education and communication with nature. In light of recent developments and the acquisition of a comprehensive vision that combines disciplines, higher education institutions emerge as an educational platform that combines agricultural and artistic disciplines, providing practical experiences for students and researchers in both fields. The nursery can be transformed into a living artistic space, where artists draw inspiration from the diversity of plants and the design of natural spaces.” Fine arts students can find topics and inspiration for their creativity here, as the integration of nature and art is a contemporary trend that highlights the importance of environmental conservation.
