Embodying community partnership, the College of Fine Arts organizes an art exhibition and an educational seminar in cooperation with the Diyala Elections Office.

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts at the University of Diyala, Assistant Professor Dr. Golan Hussein Alwan, the Diyala Elections Office, in cooperation with the College Deanship, organized an art exhibition on Thursday, October 16, 2025, on the college campus. The exhibition was attended by Brigadier General Salah Adnan Ismail, Director of Community Police in Diyala, Brigadier General Salman Matar, Media Officer for the Diyala Operations Command, and a representative from the Media Subcommittee.

The exhibition saw widespread participation from college students, who displayed artworks that embodied a sense of patriotism and the spirit of artistic creativity. Representatives of the Diyala Elections Office expressed their admiration for the distinguished artwork presented by the students.

In her speech at the opening of the exhibition, Dr. Golan Hussein Alwan emphasized that the College of Fine Arts always strives to strengthen cooperation with governmental and community institutions and to employ art as an awareness-raising and cultural tool that contributes to spreading national awareness. She noted that these activities represent a practical embodiment of the college’s mission to serve the community and develop students’ aesthetic sense.

In a related context, Brigadier General Salah Adnan Ismail, Director of Community Police in Diyala, delivered a speech in which he praised the role of the College of Fine Arts in supporting national initiatives and promoting the values ​​of belonging and citizenship through art. He emphasized that the partnership between security and academic institutions represents an important step toward building an informed society that contributes to protecting the democratic experience and spreading electoral awareness. He also commended the efforts of the creative students who expressed the spirit and unity of Iraq through their brushes.

For his part, Professor Salam Mahdi Murad, Head of the Media and Public Communications Division at the Diyala Elections Office, expressed his gratitude to the college’s deanship for the warm welcome and fruitful cooperation in supporting the commission’s media and educational activities.

In a related context, the Training and Procedures Division at the Diyala Elections Office held an educational seminar in the college theater hall, addressing the importance of receiving a voter card and actively participating in the upcoming elections. The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members and students.

The two events concluded with the presentation of a certificate of thanks and appreciation to the Dean of the College in recognition of her supportive role in the success of the Commission’s programs. The participating students were also honored with symbolic gifts to encourage their artistic creativity and academic excellence.
