The orientation week activities at the College of Fine Arts kicked off amidst remarkable student engagement.

Under the patronage of the President of Diyala University, Professor Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Assistant Professor Dr. Golan Hussein Alwan, the Orientation Week activities at the College of Fine Arts commenced today, Sunday, November 23, 2025, amidst an interactive atmosphere and a large turnout of faculty and students.

The activities began with the raising of the Iraqi flag and the playing of the national anthem, marking the start of the annual Orientation Program organized by the college. The program aims to enhance university awareness and build a positive academic environment that supports and assists students throughout their academic journey.

The Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Golan Hussein Alwan, delivered a speech on the occasion, emphasizing the importance of Orientation Week as a platform for strengthening communication between students and faculty, and highlighting the services and guidance that contribute to the development of the university experience. She noted that the college administration is always working to provide a supportive environment that helps students excel and be creative.

The Head of the Department of Cinematic and Television Arts, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Sattar Hussein, delivered a speech in which he emphasized the department’s commitment to supporting students and providing them with everything they need to overcome academic and psychological challenges. He praised the students’ spirit of participation and interaction, which reflected their awareness of the importance of such events.

The day’s activities were managed by Assistant Professor Dr. Raja Hamid Rashid, who organized a variety of engaging and purposeful segments in line with the college’s guidance program objectives.

The Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the college, Assistant Professor Baidaa Anwar Razouqi, expressed her perspective on the importance of these activities, stating: “Guidance is not merely a weekly activity; it is ongoing support that seeks to create psychological and academic balance for students, helping them understand their abilities and develop paths to success both on and off campus.”

The college will host a series of events, educational sessions, and awareness lectures in the coming days, all designed to meet the students’ needs in various educational, psychological, and academic aspects.
