Al-Zaman highlights the creativity of a female teacher at the College of Fine Arts, University of Diyala.

Al-Zaman newspaper published a press report highlighting the experience of Ruwa Khalid Al-Shihab, a lecturer at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Diyala, discussing her artistic and academic career in the field of sculpture.

The report indicated that Al-Shihab found sculpture to be her primary passion from her early years, considering Mesopotamian art to be her most important source of inspiration due to its cultural and human depth. She emphasized that her works are inspired by this great heritage, presenting it in contemporary forms.

Al-Shihab explained that her sculptural works vary between clay, wood, and stone, each material possessing its own artistic specificity in expressing ideas and translating imagination into tangible reality. She also noted that women’s and family issues constitute a fundamental focus of her artistic output, given their importance in shaping society and the depth of the human experience.

The report also highlighted Al-Shahab’s academic role as a lecturer in the Department of Fine Arts at the College of Fine Arts, University of Diyala, where she contributes to teaching students and supervising graduation projects and research, in addition to her ongoing participation in art activities and exhibitions.

Al-Shahab emphasized in her speech that her affiliation with the College of Fine Arts, University of Diyala, provided her with a renewed academic and creative environment, helping her develop her own experience and supporting her students in their first steps toward excellence.

She concluded her speech by emphasizing that ambition does not stop at a certain stage, announcing her readiness to hold a personal exhibition soon, as a new addition to her artistic career and an embodiment of the role of the College of Fine Arts, University of Diyala, in providing the Iraqi art scene with creative talent.
