Under the theme “Arts: An Important Gateway to Disseminating a Culture of Sustainability,” the College of Fine Arts at the University of Diyala participated actively in the Sustainability Conference, emphasizing that fine arts represent an effective means of disseminating culture, promoting human values, and achieving global sustainable development goals.
This participation came within the framework of its involvement in the UNESCO Network on Education for Sustainable Development in the Arab Region and the Green Education Partnership under the umbrella of the United Nations. It featured a collection of artworks reflecting concepts of the environment, identity, and cultural diversity.
Professor Amer Al-Amir exerted great efforts in coordinating and preparing the artworks representing the college, effectively contributing to conveying the messages of purposeful art to international platforms concerned with sustainability and development.
This participation was also published on a United Nations artificial intelligence platform, reflecting the international community’s appreciation for the creative role the college plays in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals through the arts.
Dr. Amer Al-Amir emphasized that art is a universal language capable of bringing about change and consolidating community awareness, noting the importance of integrating art into educational programs and environmental initiatives.
The college, represented by its dean, Professor Dr. Alaa Shaker Mahmoud, Dean of the College of Fine Arts at the University of Diyala, continues its efforts to build artistic and scientific partnerships with international institutions to enhance its presence in global forums and make art an effective tool in supporting sustainable development.
