The University President inaugurates the Experimental Theater Hall and emphasizes the importance of theater in peoples’ cultures

The President of Diyala University, Prof. Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, opened the Experimental Theater Hall today, Sunday, 2-9-2025, and watched the first opening show for students of the Department of Art Education.
The President of the University said during the opening: We appreciate the efforts of the Deanship of the College of Fine Arts and the Head of the Department of Art Education in the field of urging their students to invest in consumable tools and recycle them in establishing the experimental theater within the culture of volunteer work, pointing out the importance of theater in the civilization and culture of peoples for the purposeful educational messages it sends.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Alaa Shaker Mahmoud: expressed his thanks to the President of the University for his sponsorship of the educational and artistic process in the college, stressing the college’s keenness to nurture students’ talents and provide them with an appropriate educational environment, especially in refining the skills of the practical side and its connection to what they receive in the theoretical side, appreciating the efforts of the Head of the Department of Art Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ammar Fadhel Hassan, and the supervisor of the rehabilitation of the experimental theater, Assistant Lecturer Muhammad Khalis Ibrahim.
In the Department of Fine Arts, the University President opened the annual exhibition for third and fourth year students. In this exhibition, the University President viewed the students’ productions, which varied between drawing and graphic works. The University President met with the department’s instructors and appreciated their efforts in following up on the students and supervising their work. For her part, the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Jolan Hussein Alwan, pointed out the importance of such exhibitions in raising the students’ morale and strengthening their sense of belonging to the college. The Dean also explained to the University President the mechanisms followed in producing and displaying artworks.
