The College of Arts holds a scientific course entitled “Methods of Discovering Talent in Primary School Students”

Under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Alaa Shaker Mahmoud. The Faculty of Fine Arts, Scientific Affairs Division, held a scientific course on Sunday, 12/1/2024, entitled (Methods of Detecting Talent among Primary School Students) within the College of Fine Arts Interactive Classroom Hall.

The course, which was lectured by Assistant Lecturer Aghareed Mahmoud Wahib and attended by professors, students and specialists, included several goals and axes, the most important of which were:

Course Objectives:

Discovering and developing talent among primary school students by adopting systematic and effective methods aimed at identifying the unique abilities and skills that students possess at an early stage.

Enhancing interest in talents in early childhood by providing an educational environment that encourages the development of these abilities and enables students to explore their potential in various fields.

Course Outcomes:

Using various talent assessment tests: Directed tests should be used to help identify students’ special abilities in areas such as critical thinking, creativity, and social intelligence, in addition to artistic and scientific fields.

Organizing creative and sports activities: A range of creative activities (such as drawing, music, and writing) and sports activities (such as group and individual sports) should be organized periodically, so that students can discover and develop their talents in an encouraging environment.

Providing enrichment programs to expand the skills of gifted students: Diverse enrichment programs should be provided to gifted students, including additional workshops and specialized lessons in specific fields, such as science, arts, and mathematics, to enhance and develop their talents.

Encouraging teachers to use diverse teaching methods: Teachers should be trained to use diverse and innovative teaching methods in classrooms, such as cooperative learning and teaching creative values, to encourage students to think critically and participate effectively.

Strengthening the role of the family in discovering and developing talent: The family should be made aware of the importance of observing and supporting children’s talents at home through daily activities, and providing psychological and moral support to the child during the stages of discovering his talent, which contributes to its balanced development.
