The College of Arts holds an awareness seminar on breast cancer.

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Professor Dr. Alaa Shaker Mahmoud, and in cooperation with the Community Police Directorate and the Diyala Governorate Health Department, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Fine Arts organized an awareness seminar on breast cancer today, Sunday, 10-27-2024.
The seminar, which was lectured by Dr. Kilas Abbas Hussein from the Diyala Governorate Health Department and Assistant Lecturer Ruwa Khaled Al-Shihab, included several goals and axes, the most important of which are:
1. Introduction to breast cancer.
An explanation of what breast cancer is and how it develops.
An explanation of the causes of infection and risk factors such as age, family history, lifestyle, and others.
2. The importance of early examination.
An explanatory video presentation on the steps of self-examination and how to do it correctly.
3. Modern examination techniques.
4. Prevention and healthy lifestyle:
Providing advice on healthy habits that reduce the risk of infection, such as maintaining a healthy weight, eating a balanced diet, and avoiding smoking.
The seminar aims to educate students about the importance of early detection and preventive measures against breast cancer and to increase experience and social awareness. The seminar addressed the causes of breast cancer and the importance of regular checkups. It also discussed the psychological effects on patients and their families as a result of contracting the disease. At the end of the seminar, awareness posters were distributed on the subject
