The College of Arts holds a scientific symposium entitled Unity and Diversity in Ceramic Sculpture

Under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Alaa Shaker Mahmoud, the Faculty of Fine Arts, Continuing Education Division, held a scientific symposium entitled Unity and Diversity in Ceramic Sculpture today, Thursday, 10/17/2024.
The symposium, which was attended by a number of our college students from the Department of Art Education and the Department of Fine Arts, included several topics, the most important of which were lectured by Assistant Lecturer Ruwa Khaled Al-Shihab, one of our college’s lecturers, Department of Fine Arts:
1. Symbolism and Expression in Ceramic Sculpture:
Ceramic sculpture expresses multiple ideas and symbols. Sometimes, ceramic pieces reflect personal feelings or social comments, highlighting intellectual diversity.
Modular units may be simple in their composition but carry complexity in their meaning, such as ceramics that express spiritual or philosophical themes.
2. Cultural Diversity in Ceramic Sculpture:
It can be shown that ceramic sculpture reflects the traditions and beliefs of each society in different civilizations
Through the above, the opinions of the attendees were discussed about unity and diversity in ceramic sculpture, and it is shown how this art combines beauty, simplicity and complexity of diversity.
